About me

Hi! My name is Katerine Saravia. I'm a 21 year old artist, currently
a Visual Arts student residing in the D.C. Metropolitan area.
I mainly focus on digital illustration and character design. My work is derived from my love for a diversity of styles. Particularly with vintage, simplistic whimsical traits, and soft colors. My strong desire for experimenting with different styles shows through my interests such as my idea of dreams, femininity, and niche internet cultures.

Artist Statement
I am a digital illustrator, character designer, and concept artist whose work focuses on clear visual storytelling and expressive design. I specialized in creating work that merges soft, whimsical aesthetics with the intensity of revealing a character's personality. I allow my characters to “speak’ through their gestures, expressions, and presence as they interact with other characters and their environment. My process draws through stylized anatomy, controlled linework, and deliberate color decisions. Whether I’m designing for an original project or building standalone concepts, I prioritize strong shapes, thoughtful color choices, and consistent world-building to ensure each design fits cohesively within its intended environment and readability. I’m experienced with digital illustration workflows, iterative design, reference gathering, and developing characters from initial sketches through refined, polished pieces. My work often explores themes of identity, emotional tension, and transformation. My goal is to create engaging, memorable characters that enhance a project's storytelling, support its visual identity, and connect with audiences through expressive, thoughtful design.
